Privacy policy

Last updated: 8 October 2026

Braevi is an ecommerce platform currently in development. This policy explains how we collect and use personal information when you visit our website, join our waitlist or contact us.

It covers the Braevi website and waitlist only. Before we launch merchant accounts and services that process store or customer information, we will provide privacy information covering those services.

1. Who we are

Braevi is operated by Braevi Ltd, registered in England and Wales under company number 17522383, using the Braevi brand.

Braevi Ltd is the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

Contact email: privacy@braevi.com
Registered office: 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom.

2. What information we collect

We collect information you provide directly, including:

• Waitlist information: your email address and any optional information requested on the signup form, such as your name, business name or current ecommerce platform.
• Enquiries: your name, email address, message, approximate country inferred from your IP address where available, and any information you choose to include when contacting us.
• Feedback: responses you voluntarily provide through surveys or requests for feedback.
• Communication preferences: what you have agreed to receive, when and how you subscribed, and any unsubscribe request.

When you visit the website, our hosting and security services may also process technical information, including your IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, timestamps and error or security logs.

We use PostHog analytics to collect information about how visitors use the website, such as pages viewed and interactions. Section 5 explains how we handle cookies and similar technologies, including how to opt out.

Please do not send sensitive personal information, payment details or information about your customers through the waitlist or contact form.

3. How we use your information

Under UK data protection law, we must have a lawful basis for using personal information.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider whether the processing is necessary and how it affects your rights and interests.

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

4. Waitlist emails and your choices

Joining the waitlist allows us to send the launch and early-access communications described on the signup form.

We will only send broader product updates or promotional emails where your consent covers those messages. If you subscribe only to a launch notification, we will not treat that as permission for an ongoing newsletter.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our waitlist or marketing emails, or by contacting us at privacy@braevi.com.

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before you withdrew it.

After you unsubscribe, we may retain a minimal suppression record so that we do not accidentally add you back to future mailings. We may still respond to an enquiry you send us or contact you where necessary to handle a privacy request.

5. Cookies, analytics and similar technologies

Our website may use cookies or similar technologies for essential functions, such as security, remembering privacy preferences and making forms work.

We use PostHog analytics for first-party statistical purposes so we can understand and improve the website. We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels or analytics data for advertising or profiling.

You can object to analytics at any time through the Cookie settings link in the website footer. If we add advertising or other technologies that require consent, we will ask for permission before activating them.

You can change your choices through the Cookie settings link in the website footer.

Details of the technologies we use, their purposes, providers and duration are available in our Cookie policy.

Email open and click tracking will be disabled unless we clearly explain it and obtain any consent required before enabling it.

6. Who we share information with

We use service providers to operate the website and manage communications. They may process information on our behalf for the services they provide.

Our current providers are:

We restrict access to people and providers who need the information for their work. Where a provider acts as our processor, we put appropriate data processing terms in place.

We may also disclose information to professional advisers, regulators, public authorities or other parties where necessary to meet a legal obligation, obtain advice, or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

If responsibility for Braevi transfers to a newly formed company or another owner, relevant personal information may transfer with it. Any transfer will be handled in accordance with data protection law, and we will inform you of a change in controller and any material change in how your information is used.

7. International transfers

Some providers may store or access personal information outside the United Kingdom.

We will identify the relevant providers and countries before publication, including any overseas support access.

Where an international transfer requires protection under UK data protection law, we use an applicable lawful transfer mechanism. Depending on the destination and provider, this may include UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual safeguards, together with any required assessment and additional protections.

We will specify the actual transfer mechanism for each relevant provider before publication and will not list a mechanism unless it applies to the provider and processing concerned.

You can contact us at privacy@braevi.com for information about the safeguards applicable to your personal information and how to obtain a copy.

8. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy.

Our retention periods are:

If you later create a Braevi account, information needed for that account will be handled under the privacy information applicable to the launched service.

We may retain specific records for longer where required by law or necessary for a dispute or legal claim. Access to those records will be restricted.

Deleted information may remain temporarily in backups until those backups expire under a normal backup deletion cycle, expected to be within 90 days.

We may retain information that has been genuinely anonymised so that it no longer identifies you.

9. How we protect information

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse and alteration.

These measures are selected according to the information involved and the risks associated with processing it. Access is limited to authorised people who need it for the purposes described in this policy.

No online service can guarantee complete security. If a personal data breach occurs, we will assess it and notify the relevant regulator and affected individuals where legally required.

10. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis for processing, you may have the right to:

• Obtain a copy of your personal information.
• Have inaccurate information corrected or incomplete information completed.
• Request deletion of your information.
• Request that we restrict how we use your information.
• Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
• Receive information you provided in a portable format where the right to data portability applies.
• Withdraw consent at any time.

You can object to direct marketing at any time.

These rights are subject to legal conditions and exceptions. If we cannot fulfil a request, we will explain why.

To exercise a right, contact privacy@braevi.com. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify your identity.

We normally respond within one month. Where the law permits additional time, we will explain the reason and applicable timescale.

You do not normally need to pay to exercise your rights.

11. Complaints

If you have concerns about how we use your information, please contact privacy@braevi.com.

You also have the right to complain directly to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. You do not need to contact us first.

Website: https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/
Telephone: 0303 123 1113
Address: Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.

12. Whether you must provide information

Providing personal information for the waitlist is voluntary and is not a statutory or contractual requirement.

We need your email address to register you for the waitlist and send the communications you request. Without it, we cannot provide those notifications.

Fields marked optional are not required to join the waitlist.

For enquiries, we need sufficient information to understand your request and a way to reply.

13. Automated decisions

We do not use your waitlist or enquiry information to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you.

14. Children

The Braevi waitlist and website are intended for adults interested in running a business. They are not directed at children.

If you believe a child has provided personal information through our forms, contact privacy@braevi.com so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.

15. Other websites

Our website may link to other websites. Those organisations are responsible for their own handling of personal information.

Please read their privacy policies before providing information to them.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Braevi develops or our processing changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.

Where required, we will notify you directly of material changes. If we intend to use your information for a new purpose, we will provide the relevant privacy information before doing so and obtain fresh consent where necessary.
